Widgets (2013-2020)

The soundbyte explanation is that Widgets are miniature pieces like Bach's Inventions, but weirder. The more accurate explanation is that I don't always know what to do with my musical ideas, and so rather than try to justify using them in a longer piece I just take one particular idea or two and turn it into a Widget. Sometimes my longer pieces start out as Widgets before I figure out how to develop them beyond larval stage.
