Horizon Ensemble in Boston to premiere "Paul Revere" by Ben Nacar
We are just a month away from the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere's celebrated Midnight Ride - and the beginning of the American War for Independence - and you know what this occasion calls for: a new work for orchestra! My symphonic poem "Paul Revere" will be premiered in a couple weeks by the Boston-based Horizon Ensemble, under the baton of Julian Gau. The work draws on several different accounts of "that famous day and year" for inspiration, including Revere's own testimony and Longfellow's well-known poem.
The concert will be on Sunday, April 6th at 3pm, at the Church of the Covenant in Back Bay, Boston, MA. Also on the program are pieces by John Rotar, Amy Beach, and Leonard Bernstein.
If perchance you can't be there in person, the concert will be livestreamed on YouTube (see the link above for details).
